Fran Drescher’s New Sitcom ‘Happily Divorced’ Premieres Tomorrow

Actress Fran Drescher’s nails-on-a-chalkboard voice is set to grace our TV screens once more starting 15th June 2011, for those of you who have already watched every episode of The Nanny and can’t get enough.

The New sitcom Happily Divorced is Drescher’s first new big project in a while, but in the years since The Nanny was big, she’s had some personal matters to attend to. The actress survived a scary bout of uterine cancer, as well as a difficult divorce. But Drescher spoke about her divorce candidly in a recent interview, and the break up was certainly not about another woman.

Fran Drescher’s husband revealed in the 90′s that he was gay, and she said, He had already been living a gay life away from me after we divorced, and he said, I don’t want you to be shocked. I’m dating men.

The actress says the revelation didn’t entirely surprise her, saying, During our marriage he had told me he might be bisexual, but he wanted to stay married. By the time he told me, I had survived uterine cancer. Nothing could shake me.

Drescher continues, It’s great that we had the ability and the wisdom to reinvent our relationship. All those years weren’t for nothing. We’re very tight. We’re best friends.

Fran Drescher has worked on gay rights campaigns. Happily Divorced premieres on TV Land tomorrow night, since her ex came out.
