The project, based on a script by Anne Meredith 'Bastard Out of Carolina', is said to be a contemporary 'Big Chill' about life-long friends reconnecting. The project was originally titled 'Little Black Train'.
The Wendy Finerman 'Forrest Gump', 'The Devil Wears Prada' and Nathalie Marciano have signed on to produce 'Into the Beautiful'.
I'm often drawn to pictures that make you laugh and cry, Finerman told Variety. I think this is the perfect project for Meg to bring to life. She's poignant and funny and heartfelt.
It was reported in January that Meg Ryan was dating musician John Mellencamp around the time that he filed for divorce from his third wife.
Meg Ryan was married to actor Dennis Quaid between 1991 and 2001. They have a teenage son named Henry and a daughter, Daisy True, who Ryan adopted from China.
In recent years, Meg Ryan has starred in movies like 'The Women' and 'Serious Moonlight'. She also stars in the film 'Lives of the Saints', which stars John Lithgow and 50 Cent and is due for release later this year.
The Shooting for 'Into the Beautiful' is scheduled to begin in September in New York.
