Little Richard Performs In D.C. As Part Of The Annual 'A Capitol Fourth' Celebration


The Singer-songwriter and musician Little Richard performed in D.C. as part of the annual 'A Capitol Fourth' celebration, brought down the house, 'the house being the National Mall' with his signature high-energy piano playing.

Also performing in D.C: Steve Martin on banjo, 'fans of 'The Jerk' won't be surprised, 'American Idol' alumna Jordin Sparks, 'Glee's' Matthew Morrison and singer and songwriter Josh Groban.

In the New York, Beyonce covered Lee Greenwood's 'Proud to be an American' before launching into her new single, 'Best I Ever Had'.

Singer Lionel Richie was scheduled to headline the Boston Pops, but Martina McBride stepped in at the last minute to sub for the Richie was reportedly too sick to perform.
