Brooke Shields Joins The Addams Family On Broadway Musical Comedy (Video)


Actress Brooke Shields joined the 'The Addams Family' on Broadway musical comedy, starting Tuesday, 28th June and will play the role of Morticia.

The Addams Family Broadway musical comedy will feature Brooke Shields as Morticia, opposite Roger Rees, who plays the role of Gomez, the head of the family.

Brooke Shields replaced Bebe Neuwirth who played the original role, with the 'The Addams Family' musical being featured at Lunt Fontanne Theatre, according to BroadwayWorld.com on Monday.

I am delighted to be joining The Addams Family this summer. Brooke Shields was quoted at entertainment news sites earlier, adding that she was excited to be the next Morticia.

When the producers asked me to come and see the show a few months ago, I found it to be wonderfully entertaining, funny, clever and even touching. Brooke Shields added, who stands six feet tall.

The 46 years old Shields, is not new in musical theater and has appeared in several Broadway musical shows and even won a Theater World award in 1995 for her debut role as Rizzo in Grease.

Meanwhile, other 'The Addams Family' casts include Brad Oscar as Uncle Fester, Jackie Hoffman as Grandma, Rachel Potter as Wednesday and Adam Reigler as Pugsley.

Also included are Adam Grupper as Mal Beineke, Zachary James as Lurch, Jesse Swenson as Lucas Beineke and Heidi Blickenstaff as Alice Beineke.

The Addams Family musical comedy is based on the bizarre and beloved family of characters created by cartoonist Charles Addams, and directed and designed by Phelim McDermott and Julian Crouch.
